People have been living in Florida for fourteen thousand years. It seems unbelievable but it is true. However it should notated that Europeans came in here not long ago - it happened only in 1513. It was this year when a Spanish conquistador announced the splendid region Spanish and named it "La Florida." Before the Spanish invasion the tribes of Timucua, Apache, and others had been inhabited this land. It is known that the tribe Timucua disappeared approximately in 18th century. Those tribes were located along the entire territory of Florida. The local people were busy with growing corns. The Indians who were living in the south part of the state were engaged in hunting and foraging. The number of population was noticeably decreased when European people began to occupy the territory. There were some reasons for this fact - inflectional diseases, slavery, fights and others. Step by step peoples were mixed with each other and it resulted in the appearance of a new nation - Seminole. They played an important part in the development of the state. The Spanish didn't linger about this place because of storms and hurricanes and in 1561 they left the land in order to come back here after a while. The construction of railways added much to reclamation of the land.
Flora and fauna of Florida always attracted lots of tourists - they enjoyed the fresh air, azure waters of the Atlantic Ocean and exotic animals. This state has a very comfortable geographical position for the infrastructure development. There are lots of green parks and gardens in there. Tourists love this state. The majority of seniors arrive in Florida to settle here or have a rest. The climate allows staying here for a long time. It is not for nothing Edison and Ford were having winter estates in Florida. The population has been increased lately.
